About

I have worked for many years, 12 to be precise, as a primary school teacher working in the South West of England. Like so much of England these lands are surrounded by magic, mystery and a sense of history. I love tales of magic, fantasy, the supernatural and the paranormal and take great pleasure in reading, listening to and writing about these things. One of my greatest joys as a teacher has been reading that I’ve written to the children in my class and watching their faces as they listen to the stories – all thoughts of fiddling with their pencil case or distracting a friend forgotten for a few moments!

After writing a few such short stories and just saving them for the next academic year to come around to read them to a new class, I decided I should put them online and write some more stories to go with them. I will aim to write a range of genres although most of my stories will focus around fantasy, the supernatural, science-fiction and myths and legends. I will aim to write stories for younger and older readers. I’ll even try to work out a way of tagging these stories on the website to make them easy to find by age or genre…

Please feel free to share these stories with others, I hope that you enjoy them and they do too! Maybe you too are a teacher and would like to share them with your class. Maybe you are a parent looking for some new short stories to read to your child. Or maybe your children would like to use one of my tales as inspiration for their own writing or continue one of the stories further. Or maybe you are a child yourself and, if you are, I’m sure that you can decide what you want to do next!

I am hoping to add more and short stories to the website over time so please come back time from time to read some more tales or follow me on social media for updates on new stories.

Thank you for visiting Tales of Samhain – I hope that you enjoy your visit!
